Girls Rock London: Connect and Create

We’re so happy to be asked to be a part of this new course by Girls Rock London. Omnii will be delivering workshops on producing a track in Soundtrap, mixing and mastering, and more! Details below:

🎵 GIRLS ROCK LONDON presents Connect and Create, our BRAND NEW online music course for women, trans and non-binary adults to learn how to make music digitally!

Designed for those at the beginning of their music production journey, you will be supported with tuition, coaching and mentoring from music industry professionals and be welcomed into the thriving and supportive GRL community. The course runs from 9th April – 15th May 2021.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

Over the course of the digital programme (hosted on Zoom) you will:

  • take part in workshops that will help you develop your independent and collaborative music-making skills

  • learn how to navigate Soundtrap, a browser-based accessible tool for music production, including how to record vocals and incorporate samples into your track

  • participate in workshops exploring different vocal styles

  • collaborate with a group to create a piece of music with support from a coach

  • watch live bands at our streamed lunchtime ‘mini gigs’

  • receive up to 2 hours of 1:1 support from a mentor

  • share the music you have created at an online showcase on May 15th!…+ more!

🌟 You don’t need to like rock music – ‘Girls Rock’ is about an attitude rather than a specific genre.

Small Pond x OMNII 'Engineering Equality' Short Course

Small Pond, in partnership with London based OMNII collective, have launched the Arts Council funded initiative 'Engineering Equality'; a free course in Audio Engineering and Music Production, for Women, Trans* and Non-Binary people.

(*transgender, transman, transwoman, genderqueer, agender, non-binary, bigender)

Did you know that only 5% of sound engineers are female? And even fewer are Trans or non-binary. It’s a statistic that we feel needs addressing.

Whether you already have some experience or are just starting out on your music production journey we hope that this 2 month part-time course can help you enhance your skillset and confidence, in the studio or at home.

If you are looking to get to grips with studio recording, music production, mixing and mastering techniques then please fill out the application form below as soon as possible as spaces are limited.

Gain Change is Omnii's new national workshop series for women+ and non-binary sound enthusiasts, aiming to demystify music technology, break down barriers and encourage more diversity and accessibility into music studios and venues.

We are excited to be hosting two free workshops in London with special guests Steph Marziano and Amanda Mayo on mixing and production.

Steph Marziano is a producer, mix engineer, recording engineer and writer. She has worked with artists Denai Moore, Kasabian, The Prodigy and more. https://www.stephmarziano.com/

An Introduction to Live Sound Engineering


Free for Boudica Ticket holders – available on first come first served basis.

A beginner-level workshop focusing on the basics of live sound engineering. Led by live sound engineers Naomi Jackson and Phoebe Robinson (they/them), this workshop will provide participants with the knowledge to be able to run/ organise a small gig themselves.

It will also give those who are artists the technical language to be able to take control of their sound when talking to engineers during their performances. We will cover the basics of signal routing, microphone placement, mixing desk skills, power, and stage safety. Each participant will get hands on with stage set-up, sound checking, and mixing.

Brighton! We'll be coming to you for Live Sound Engineering workshops led by Naomi Jackson and Phoebe Robinson.
Come for a 2 hour workshop at The Rose Hill to learn how to operate live sound for gigs, or how to get the most out of your performance by learning the tech behind performance.
These are aimed at complete beginners to intermediate level.

Damudomi X Omnii Challenging The Identity Of Sound, Faroe Islands

Damudomi X Omnii present a 3 day camp on demystifying music technology. This camp will lay a grounding in music production, making recordings, live sound and events; with participants getting a taste for each of these. There will also be talks from speakers who work within the industry and a showcase gig on the final night. Aimed at musicians who want to start producing their own tracks, performers who want to understand more about the gear they’re using and sound enthusiasts who want to learn what goes on behind the mixing desk.

Day 1: Making a track in Ableton

Day 2: Introduction to the recording studio (at Studio Bloch, Faroe Islands)

Day 3: An introduction to live sound plus a guest talk from Eivor.
